The Washington Generals got a sterling performance from pitcher Norberto Morán, but the Mancelona Torch still prevailed, 3-2. Morán threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Tom Hancock was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 15 of 20 save opportunities. The Torch raised their record to 33-48.
The most important at-bat for Mancelona came in the top of the ninth inning, when left fielder Jeremiah Barnes stroked a 2-1 cutter to left for a run-scoring single, putting Mancelona up, 3-2.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Barnes said after the game.
