The Cleveland Browns knocked off the Long Island Lighthouse, 6-5, at The Lighthouse. Rommel Fflunker was a big reason Cleveland won. The first baseman went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Cleveland reliever Steven Carlson picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Hsiao-lou Lei absorbed the loss. Long Island is 2-1 after the defeat.
The Lighthouse had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Browns going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the fan favorite Ignacio Páez came to the plate. Páez hit a 2-run home run on a first pitch cutter from Long Island hurler Hsiao-lou Lei. It was Páez's 2nd home run of the year.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Páez. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
