Kingston Gets 3-1 Win
|
Ronald Johnson never let the Torch get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Mangos to a win, 3-1. Johnson got the win, improving to 4-2. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 6.2 innings. Johnson allowed no runs. Sing Song earned the save for Kingston, his 17th.
In the bottom of the eighth, Mike Bonner stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Torch were trailing 3-0, but had the bases loaded. That's when Lesta Antamoshkin made a terrific pitch and Bonner grounded out. Gone was the dream of a Mancelona comeback.
Kingston now has a record of 42-32 with the win.
