Rails Down Pilgrims, 2-1
|
The Richland Rails got a magnificent performance from pitcher Steven Grant, who stifled the Providence offense en route to a 2-1 Rails win at Field of Plenty. Picking up the save was Jason Walker, his 10th. Richland has now won 3 in a row.
Richland used the timely hitting of Terry Washington to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Rails on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Washington told the Richland Daily.
