Shan-tang Yang was outstanding against Athletic Club KC Academy. The left-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the PAA in innings pitched with 139.0, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Screaming Eagles 4-2 win. The win elevated the Screaming Eagles to 64-36.

It could have been a different outcome for Mercer Island, had it not been for Cai-fei Zang, the 21-year old center fielder . Zang contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Mercer Island up, 3-2.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Yang said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
