The Virginia Beach Whales and Olympia Ogres were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Behind a solid performance from third baseman Jon Himes, the Olympia Ogres defeated the Virginia Beach Whales, 7-3. Himes hit 2 home runs for the Ogres. Picking up the save was Erik Walton, his 2nd.

The Whales had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Ogres going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old third baseman José Morales came to the plate. Morales hit a 2-run double on a 1-2 slider from Virginia Beach hurler Ricardo Corona. It was Morales's 2nd double of the year.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Himes.

The 5th-place Ogres are now 50-48, the Whales 42-56.
