5-4 Loss to Expos Extends Mancelona Losing Streak
|
With first baseman Bob Hawkins leading the charge, the Niagara Falls Expos defeated the Mancelona Torch, 5-4, at Waterfall Park. Hawkins, who is tied for 6th in the 3A in doubles with 14, went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Renan Tumarro earned the save, his 2nd. This loss makes it 7 in a row for Mancelona.
Had Clarence Hogan not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Hogan hit a 2-run double. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Expos.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Hawkins said.
