The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles downed the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 6-5, at Mercer Island Grounds. The Screaming Eagles were led by Ji-hoon Ku. He was 2-2 with a home run. The losing streak for Nuevo Mexico has now reached 5 games.

In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 5-5, catcher I-tsing Hsiao won it for Mercer Island. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Hsiao hit a first pitch fastball from Bill Mitchell for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 6-5 win.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Hsiao, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
