Generals Top Torch, 6-2
|
The Washington Generals got a stellar performance from pitcher Norberto Morán, who handcuffed the Mancelona offense en route to a win, 6-2, at Washington Park. Morán, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Augusto Rey collected his 2nd save.
In the bottom of the fifth, Washington designated hitter Ling-lai Kang had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Kang stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 2-1, Washington. For the game, he went 1 for 3 with a walk.
"It feels good to get this one," Kang told the Washington Daily.
The Generals sit in 8th place in the Menard's A with a record of 26-29.
