Niagara Falls shortstop Jacob Grimsey had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Grimsey was 3-4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs, even as Put-In-Bay beat the Expos, 5-3. George Gross earned the win to go to 3-1. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts in 5 innings of work. The 5th-place Commodores are now 26-24, the Expos 24-26.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Trent Terry? The Put-In-Bay third baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Commodores on top, 3-0. For the game, Terry had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Terry said.
