Extra-Inning Win by Generals Over Crawdads
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Washington Generals and Cut Off Crawdads.
The Washington Generals got a magnificent effort from pitcher Jean-Paul Jaffre, who kept Cut Off hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Generals win at Crawdads Field. Washington reliever Tony Nelson picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Jason Tipton was saddled with the loss.
Washington used the clutch hitting of Les Bucknell to snag the win. The left fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the 21st inning to put the Generals ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 8 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"I like our resilience," said Jaffre.
The 5th-place Generals now have a win-loss record of 23-22.
