Win Streak Now at 9 for River Rats
|
The Columbia River Rats beat the Mancelona Torch, 4-3, at Torch Field. The River Rats got a fine performance from left fielder Jung-jun Sang, who went 2-3 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Columbia starter Martín Rivera was credited with the win after throwing 102 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 4-0. Columbia is now riding a 9-game win streak.
Sang came through for the River Rats in the top of the third inning. With Columbia leading 1-0, the left fielder hit a sacrifice fly. It made the score 2-0, Columbia.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Mancelona skipper Bernardo Hernández, "and it cost us."
