Expos Top Mangos to Even Record
|
Getting offensive support from Jorge Gonzáles, the Niagara Falls Expos topped the Kingston Mangos, 8-4. Gonzáles was 3 for 3 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Expos. Tsurayaki Tanaka earned the save, his 2nd, for the Expos. The Expos now have a record of 14-14.
The Expos got an important contribution from left fielder Paul Myers, who in the bottom of the first knocked a 1-2 fastball into right for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Expos ahead, 5-0.
In postgame comments to the Niagara Falls Times, Myers said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
