Loons Win by Slim Margin, 6-5

Gregory Jones did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Virginia Beach Whales from losing, 6-5, to the Minnesota Loons at Loony Bin. Jones was 2-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Minnesota has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
Sumitomo Shimizu was the walk-off hero for Minnesota. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Loons second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"The vibe's good," said Minnesota manager Eddie O'Bryan. "We've got to keep it going."
