Tight Tilt Goes to Generals, 2-1
|
The Washington Generals got a stellar performance from pitcher Jean-Paul Jaffre, who handcuffed the Kingston offense en route to a win, 2-1, at Mango Yard. Jaffre, now 3-2, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The Generals sport a record of 10-15.
Washington used the timely hitting of Bo McCoy to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Generals on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Every loss stings," said Kingston manager William Smith. "This one is no exception."
