Olympia Ogres starter Andy Benson pitched a strong game against the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks at Thunder Hawks Ballpark, leading the Ogres to victory, 4-2. Benson went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2. His record improves to 5-3. The save was credited to Yun-fat Ju, his 11th.
Olympia used a well-timed hit by Ramón Cervantes to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Ogres ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
Cervantes called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
The triumph puts Olympia at 31-22 for the season.
