Whales Deal Eclipse 5-3 Defeat
|
Virginia Beach right fielder Arturo Collazo contributed to his team's 5-3 win over the Northville Eclipse. Collazo went 3 for 4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Whales. Virginia Beach reliever Bill Gould picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Tim Chuter shouldered the loss. At 21-27, the Whales find themselves in 9th place in the Premier AA.
Hong-bo Chu was 1-2 with a double and a walk for Virginia Beach. The 27-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Tim Chuter. It was his 9th RBI of the season.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Virginia Beach manager Domingo García.
