Ogres Outmuscle Gulf Coast, 10-8
|
The Olympia Ogres racked up a win at The Ogre Den, bumping off the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, 10-8. Flavio Lapo, who started for Olympia, pitched effectively for his team. Lapo, the winner, moves to 5-2. He threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk. Earning his 9th save of the year was Yun-fat Ju.
With Olympia leading 7-3 in the bottom of the sixth, Richard Marshall hit a 2-run single off Gulf Coast pitcher Cornell Henry. It put the Ogres ahead 9-3.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Lapo.
The Ogres improved to 28-18.
