Alameda got a terrific performance from pitcher Cornell Rogers, but it wasn't enough to beat the Cut Off Crawdads. Cut Off won the Crawdads Field contest, 2-1. Rogers threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. Cut Off pitcher Jeff Lynch got the win. He's now 1-1. Ricardo Méndez was tagged with the loss. The second-place Crawdads have won 6 in a row.

In the bottom of the ninth, with no one out and the game tied, 1-1, shortstop Rick Wilson won it for Cut Off. With a runner on 1st, Wilson hit a full count fastball from Ricardo Méndez for a run-scoring double, giving his team the 2-1 win.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Wilson. "And not try to do too much."
