Maxwell Slugs Whales to 7-0 Win
|
The Virginia Beach Whales beat the Northville Eclipse, 7-0, at Old-Timers Park. The Whales got a fine performance from third baseman Woody Maxwell, who was 2-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Virginia Beach occupies 8th place in the Premier AA at 20-26.
Luc Leroux, the 24-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Leroux contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Virginia Beach up, 2-0.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Virginia Beach manager Domingo García.
