Whales Suffer 6-3 Loss to Rails
Despite a great performance by Virginia Beach shortstop Lee Montgomery, the Richland Rails defeated the Whales by the score of 6-3 at Rails Ballpark. Montgomery was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Richland, with the win, sits at 15-30.

With runs few and far between, the Rails had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Richland came in the bottom of the third inning, when second baseman Romain Picot delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off Gavriil Wolfson and made the score 1-0, Rails. Picot was 1 for 3 with a walk.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Picot told the Richland Chronicle.
