The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles got a superb performance from pitcher Shan-tang Yang. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Minnesota. The Loons won the game, 6-1. Yang threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball. Minnesota reliever Carlos Rivas picked up the win to move to 2-1. Alan Gonzáles suffered the loss. The win elevated the Loons to 26-19.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when shortstop Carlos Blanca, who is tied for 6th in the PAA in bases on balls with 26, hit a triple. The Loons went on to win.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Blanca. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
