The Boston Patriots beat the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 8-4, at Atlantica. Boston designated hitter Dídac Nores had an outstanding performance. He went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Boston reliever Robert Smalls picked up the win to move to 7-0. Nick Cole suffered the loss. Boston is now riding a 3-game win streak.

The Patriots got a big hit from center fielder Damon Bansfield. In the top of the sixth, Bansfield pounded a 2-run double to left-center. His 10th double of the season put the Patriots ahead, 6-2.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Bansfield.
