A good performance from third baseman Jonathan Long helped the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks defeat the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 6-3. Long went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Thunder Hawks. Ft. Polk South pitcher Mark Brunswick got the win. He's now 2-5. Keith Lynskey was tagged with the loss. The 6th-place Thunder Hawks lifted their record to 17-20.

With Ft. Polk South leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Long hit a fastball from Keith Lynskey for a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Thunder Hawks ahead, 3-0.

"It feels good to get this one," Long told the Ft. Polk South Daily.
