Mariachis Come Up Short at Ft. Polk South, 6-5
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks and Nuevo Mexico Mariachis obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.

The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks topped the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis by the score of 6-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to third baseman Jonathan Long. Long was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Thunder Hawks on the day. Ft. Polk South reliever Eitoku Tanaka picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Ramón Guzmán was saddled with the loss. Ken Travis earned the save for Ft. Polk South, his 2nd.

With no one out in the bottom of the seventh, Donald Cannon had a game-changing hit. The Thunder Hawks left fielder slammed a run-scoring single off Iván Betancourt, making the score 6-5, Ft. Polk South.
