The Northville Eclipse thumped the Virginia Beach Whales, 9-1, at Virginia Beach Grounds. Ricardo Vásquez was a big reason his team got the win. Vásquez went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Constantino Ruíz picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-3. He struck out 3 in 8.1 innings. The Eclipse go to 11-16 with the win.

In the top of the first, Norberto Pacheco ambushed a first pitch fastball from Ricardo Corona and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Northville a quick 2-0 lead.

"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Pacheco told the Northville Today. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
