The Minnesota Loons beat the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 7-6, at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. Minnesota designated hitter Claudio Guzmán had an outstanding performance. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Reynaldo Vázquez, the winner, improved to 3-2. He held the Thunder Hawks to 4 runs on 4 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 3. Carlos Rivas earned the save for Minnesota, his 2nd of the year.

With Minnesota leading 5-4 in the top of the seventh, Guzmán hit a 2-run single off Ft. Polk South hurler Eitoku Tanaka. It was the 10th hit of the season for Guzmán and put his team ahead, 7-4.

"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Minnesota manager Eddie O'Bryan.
