Thunder Hawks Earn 3-2 Win Versus Whales
Virginia Beach got a terrific performance from pitcher Ricardo Corona, but it wasn't enough to beat the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks. Ft. Polk South won the Thunder Hawks Ballpark contest, 3-2. Corona threw 7.0 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. The win has Ft. Polk South at 9-13.

Héctor Coríz was 2 for 3 with 2 singles for Ft. Polk South. The 23-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Daryl Benstead. It was his 11th RBI of the season.

"We take it day by day here," said Coríz, "and today was a good one for us."
