Rails Suffer 8-3 Setback
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.

The Virginia Beach Whales took Richland pitcher Steven Grant's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Virginia Beach Grounds. The final score had Virginia Beach getting past the Rails, 8-3. Grant went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 4. The win has Virginia Beach at 9-11.

In the bottom of the third, with Virginia Beach leading 1-0, Lee Montgomery hit a changeup from Miguel González for a 2-run single, giving the Whales the lead, 3-0.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Virginia Beach skipper Domingo García.
