Late Magic Gets Ft. Polk South 3-1 Win
The Nuevo Mexico Mariachis got a sterling performance from pitcher Kent Woods, but the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks still prevailed, 3-1. Woods threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Ft. Polk South reliever Ryan Barker picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Ramón Guzmán was saddled with the loss. Nuevo Mexico, with the loss, is 5-8.

Ft. Polk South used a timely hit from John Allen to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Thunder Hawks ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"Not to be Captain Obvious," said Nuevo Mexico manager Kyle Bass, "but we need to push more runs across the plate."
