Olympia beat Virginia Beach on the strength of starter Flavio Lapo's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-0. Olympia, now 9-2, is setting the league on fire so far.

Lapo, a native of Posadas, Argentina, was dealing all game. He kept Virginia Beach hitters off-balance, while giving the Ogres 6.2 quality innings. Lapo threw 91 pitches, allowing 1 hit and striking out 7.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Lapo.
