Screaming Eagles Sneak Past Thunder Hawks, 4-3

Mercer Island starter Alan Gonzáles pitched well against the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks at Mercer Island Grounds. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Mercer Island reliever Dave Green picked up the win to move to 1-0. Ken Travis suffered the loss. The loss drops Ft. Polk South to 0-4.
Connor Dunne was the walk-off hero for Mercer Island. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Screaming Eagles first baseman hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"Winning never gets dull," said Dunne.
