The Minnesota Loons got a good effort from starter Todd James in defeating the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles at Mercer Island Grounds. The final score was 5-2. Carlos Rivas finished the game for Minnesota and earned his 1st save. With the win, Minnesota boosts its record to 3-0.

Minnesota used a well-timed hit by Rob Ott to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Loons ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"We did a lot of things right," said Ott.
