Patriots Get One-Run Win at St. Louis
|
St. Louis designated hitter Dan Webb was sensational. He went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Boston beat the Coeur, 6-5. Earning his 2nd save for Boston was Rubén Vázquez. The Patriots go to 37-54 with the win.
A decisive at-bat came in the top of the third inning. With the bases loaded, the batter, Damon Bansfield, reached on an error by the 1B, driving in 1 run. It made the score 1-0, Boston, and helped them go on to win.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Bansfield said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
