Schroeder Slugs Guinea Pigs to 7-4 Win
|
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs beat the Akron Blimps, 7-4, at Goodyear Hanger Dome. The Guinea Pigs got a fine performance from left fielder Chandler Schroeder, who belted 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The win belongs to Daisuke Yoshikawa in relief. His record improves to 1-0. António Gallegos took the loss for Akron. Gwinnett is now 76-23, 12 games up in the Silver AA.
In the top of the seventh, Schroeder put his team in front with his 15th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which came against António Gallegos, made it 7-3, Gwinnett.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Schroeder told the Gwinnett Times.
