Polar Bears Sneak By Cangrejos Fantasmas, 4-3
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Billings Polar Bears and Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas.
The Billings Polar Bears faced a tough opponent in Chesapeake pitcher Burian Polyn, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Ghost Crab Park by a final score of 4-3. Polyn went 8.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Hisham Daud converted his 4th save in 5 tries.
Billings used the timely hitting of Henry Andrews to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Polar Bears on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Andrews said.
The 6th-place Polar Bears improved to 45-53.
