Clayton Thomas never let the Polar Bears get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his forkball, to pitch the Pierogis to a win, 4-1. Jack Herer earned his 4th save in 6 chances. The Pierogis saw their win-loss record go to 41-55. At the same time, the Polar Bears fell to 44-52.

The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the sixth inning, but Thomas was able to pitch out of a jam. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and Billings trailing 3-1, Thomas retired Clayton Brooks, who struck out.
