The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs got a stellar effort from pitcher Homer Sanders, helping Gwinnett score a win over the visiting Barton Springs Blues, 5-2. Gwinnett, at 72-22, is 11½ games up in the Silver AA.

The Guinea Pigs got a big at-bat from first baseman Luis Concepción. For the game, Concepción went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 15th home run of the season gave Gwinnett a 2-1 lead.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Sanders said after the game.
