Kelly Leads Polar Bears to Win
|
Polar Bears second baseman Paul Kelly put his stamp on his team's 6-3 win over the Squirrel Hill Pierogis. Kelly was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for Billings in the contest. Billings reliever Juan Hernández was the winner. His record is now 4-5. Natalino Gasco took the loss. Hisham Daud nailed down his 3rd save.
Kelly had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-2 fastball from Natalino Gasco, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Polar Bears a 6-3 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Kelly.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Kelly.
The Pierogis, now 39-55, have lost 5 in a row.
