Guinea Pigs Stick Saboteurs with 6-2 Loss
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Toledo Saboteurs and Gwinnett Guinea Pigs get after it.
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs topped the Toledo Saboteurs, 6-2, in USSL Double A action at Experimental Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Gwinnett pitcher Jeff Morehead. Morehead, now 13-0, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs.
Jay Harris chipped in for Gwinnett with a solo home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the center fielder had 3 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Harris. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
Gwinnett goes to 69-22. The win puts them 10½ games up in their division.
