Saboteurs Squelch Blues Offense in Shutout Win
|
Toledo took on Barton Springs in front of a lively crowd.
The Toledo Saboteurs picked up a win at Toledo Backyard Park, knocking off the Barton Springs Blues, 5-0. Starting pitcher Mike Thornton was a big reason why. The 4th-place Blues have lost 4 straight games.
Early in the game, catcher Mario Torres had a grand slam home run for Toledo. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Saboteurs on top, 4-0.
"Mike was pounding the zone," said Toledo manager Will Thomas.
