Chesapeake and Ithaca got after it at Imps Park.

Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas starter Walt Middleton was in fine form against the Ithaca Fighting Imps at Imps Park, leading his team to a win, 5-1. Middleton, now 7-5, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 8, walking 0, and allowing 1 run.

Chesapeake used a clutch hit from Manuel Pérez to get the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cangrejos Fantasmas ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"It feels good to get this one," Pérez told the Chesapeake News.

The win puts the Cangrejos Fantasmas at 54-30, while the Fighting Imps drop to 42-42.
