The Akron Blimps got a stellar performance from pitcher António Gallegos, who handcuffed the Barton Springs offense en route to a win, 2-1, at Blues Field. The save went to António del Pozo, his 2nd this season. The win elevated the Blimps to 44-39.

The Blues had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Blimps going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old center fielder Ernie Lewis came to the plate. Lewis hit a solo home run on a 1-1 fastball from Barton Springs hurler Lane Stewart. It was Lewis's 4th home run of the year.

"We found a way to get it done," Gallegos said.
