A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Squirrel Hill Pierogis and Providence Pilgrims.

The performance of Mike Holmes proved critical in helping Squirrel Hill beat Providence, 7-2. The Pierogis center fielder threw 6.1 innings allowing 1 runs. Holmes went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 4, and struck out 3. His record improves to 5-4.

Chris Jones came through for Squirrel Hill with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the third. The left fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 3 runs batted in.
