Rainbow Mermaids Win, 3-1, at Vancouver
|
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids got a magnificent performance from pitcher Javier Ariza, who muffled the Vancouver offense en route to a tight 3-1 Rainbow Mermaids win at Wolf Den in Vancouver. Ariza went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 3, and struck out 2. His record improves to 11-5. The Rainbow Mermaids, at 53-35, have now won 4 straight.
Northern Virginia relied on the hitting of Ryder Ringor to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the second inning to put the Rainbow Mermaids on top, 2-0. For the game, Ringor had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Ringor told the Northern Virginia Daily News.
