Dirty Reds Lose to Grey Wolves, 3-1
|
Vancouver rode a fine outing from starter Juan Rayo to victory over the San Mateo Dirty Reds at Lang Park. The final score was 3-1. The winning pitcher was Rayo, now 4-3. He tossed 7 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 4. Picking up the save was Terry Lesage, his 16th.
Vancouver used the bat of Jaime Soto to get the win. The second baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Grey Wolves ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Soto told the Vancouver Citizen. "But we take nothing for granted."
Vancouver now sits in 5th place in the Premier League at 44-43.
