The Barton Springs Blues overcame a good performance by Toledo second baseman Nick Christensen to knock off Toledo, 5-3, at Blues Field. Christensen was 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Urs Bilderbeek earned the win for Barton Springs. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 8. With the win, he raised his record to 2-4. Graviel Azevedo converted his 2nd save in 2 tries.
A key moment came in the bottom of the third inning when Blues catcher Jason Wilson socked a 2-0 fastball to right for a 2-run single, putting Barton Springs up, 4-2.
"Enjoyed this one," Wilson told the Barton Springs Times. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
Their 36-30 record puts the Blues third in the Silver AA.
