The Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas and Squirrel Hill Pierogis put on a pitchers' duel.
The Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas topped the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 2-1, in USSL Double A action at Field of the Rawhides. The game was highlighted by the performance of Chesapeake pitcher Walt Middleton. Middleton picked up the win for Chesapeake, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 5-4.
Chesapeake relied on the bat of José Altagracia to get the win. The shortstop ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the fifth inning to put the Cangrejos Fantasmas ahead, 2-1. For the game, Altagracia had 1 double and 1 triple in 4 at-bats.
"It was a good effort all around," said Altagracia.
