Akron got a strong outing from José Cruz as the Blimps defeated the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 7-2, at Imps Park. Ithaca has now lost 5 consecutive games.

The Blimps got an important contribution from first baseman Ole Geenen, who in the top of the first hit a 1-0 changeup into center for a run-scoring double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Blimps ahead, 2-0.

"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Geenen told the Akron Herald. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
