Fighting Imps Trounce Atoms, 10-3
|
Getting a good performance from right fielder Timothy Hayes, the Ithaca Fighting Imps defeated the Bethesda Atoms, 10-3. Hayes went 2-3 with a triple and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Fighting Imps. The triumph puts Ithaca at 31-29 for the season.
The Bethesda Atoms had some chances. With Bethesda trailing 7-0 in the top of the 6th, Claudio Leño hit a 2-run double. But it was too little too late for the Atoms. Bethesda manager Ted Hansen said afterward that his team would learn from this latest defeat.
